Overview
We are seeking a motivated Consultant to join our expanding consultancy team with a focus on natural turf sport surfaces and agronomy. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide variety of sports infrastructure projects — from grassroots facilities to international venues — applying engineering and design expertise to improve access to quality sports environments. As part of a multidisciplinary group, you will collaborate with engineers, agronomists, and sports surface specialists to deliver outstanding technical solutions and client support across all stages of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide consultancy support on the planning, investigation, design, and construction of sports surface and facility projects.
• Undertake site surveys and condition assessments, including interpretation of soil and drainage data.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare technical reports and design specifications, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Contribute to project and construction management, including supervision of contractors and quality control on-site.
• Engage with a wide range of clients including national governing bodies of sport, local authorities, schools, and professional clubs to develop tailored, cost-effective solutions.
• Work collaboratively within the Labosport Group to integrate testing, design, and consultancy expertise.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, design codes of practice, and governing body requirements.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Degree in Soil Science, Engineering, Sports Surface Technology, or a related field.
• Experience or interest in the design and construction of sports facilities or civil infrastructure.
• Knowledge of soils and their engineering and drainage properties.
• A sound agronomic understanding.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
• Ability to interpret site data (including ground and drainage assessments).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK, and on occasion abroad, as required
• Desirable – knowledge and experience of synthetic sports surfaces.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday
35 hours per week

Home based with travel to sites
