Sawston has a wide variety of public open spaces including a cemetery, parks, woodland, footpath, play areas and sports pitches. The council needs an experienced person to manage, maintain and develop these much-used facilities. 

For example, you might be planting, pruning, grass seeding, hedge trimming, strimming and spraying, using the council’s power tools and gardening machinery. You’ll also take responsibility for maintaining fences and gates, and undertake basic repairs and maintenance to premises and equipment as needed.

You’ll take pride in your work and will be able to communicate well with other staff, members of the public, councillors and suppliers. You’ll be happy working on your own or as part of a team.

Relevant qualifications helpful, but training will be available.

• Full time, 37 hours, Monday to Friday – flexible by negotiation

• Salary £15.08 per hour (£29,093) per annum

• Parish Council pension scheme, subject to eligibility criteria

• Protective clothing will be provided
