Westminster School is seeking an Senior Groundsperson to lead in maintaining and managing the school’s playing surfaces and surrounding areas to the highest standards.

The school’s 10-acre playing field at Vincent Square, the largest square in Central London, provides pupils with easy access to sports facilities close to the school. The grounds include cricket pitches, football pitches, tennis courts (with tarmac and artificial grass surfaces), and an activity area for younger pupils from Westminster Under School.

As the Senior Groundsperson, you will work closely with the Head Groundsperson, taking on a range of essential grounds maintenance duties. These include marking and overmarking sports areas, caring for artificial playing surfaces, and ensuring that all sports pitches are well-maintained. You will also be responsible for horticultural tasks such as ground preparation, planting, turfing, seeding, and pruning. Additionally, you will oversee the setup and maintenance of sports equipment, ensuring everything is ready for school events and games.

To be successful in this role, we would like you to hold a Level 2 GMA Technical Certificate in Turf Surface Maintenance (or equivalent) and have significant experience in grounds maintenance. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, along with a solid understanding of health and safety regulations related to grounds work.
