GMA are looking for a part time 18.5 hours per weekTurf Care Advisory Lead to join our expanding team. You will lead on the delivery and development of the GMA’s Turf Care Advisory Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead ongoing GMA TCA work and development of possible and future TCA opportunities.
    • Respond to enquiries from consultants / contractors / associates and clients and respond accordingly with GMA products and services / solutions with indicative costs;
    • Liaise with the contracted consultants on possible projects;
    • Create, or adjust possible formal costed proposals for issue;
  • Line management of the part time TCA Support Executive and oversee and manage the job management system and its administration.
  • Ensure individual job / project data is captured, monitored and reviewed.
  • Collate and evaluate clients’ feedback to continuously improve the GMA’s offering.
  • Lead and support marketing for TCA service in liaison with internal GMA colleagues.
  • Provide key support on all quality assurance activities to ensure the GMA offering meets relevant standards.
  • Lead on research for new consultancy opportunities.
  • Lead and support the management of the GMA’s network of associates and consultants

The ideal candidate(s) will have proven knowledge and be experienced in:

  • Project Management: specifically relating to sports provision, grounds management and consultancy.
  • Line management: effective development and management of staff and managing associated issues.
  • Organisational Skills and Time Management: capable of multi-tasking and responding to variable workloads and competing demands.
  • Software Proficiency: Competence in using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM and databases.
  • Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or higher in an appropriate field of study, or formal qualification in Project Management and techniques. Demonstrable understanding of general turf maintenance and management knowledge.
  • Effective Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities including excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Relationship Development and Management: with national governing bodies of sport, stakeholders, clients and customers, ensuring relevant standards are met and the diverse range of needs and priorities are managed.

GMA are seeking candidates with typically 5 years’ experience working in project management of sports provision. You should have proven experience in developing relevant relationships and leading projects which relate to grounds management and consultancy works. Additionally, you will demonstrate familiarity with a range of sports and a range of levels and have general turf maintenance and management knowledge. You will also have good time management skills with the ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities and be a resourceful and resilient problem solver. You should possess a valid full driving licence and be able to travel on GMA business and stay away overnight on a frequent basis, sometimes at short notice.

Salary and benefits

Salary is up to £20K (full time equivalent of £40K per annum) plus pension, employee assistance programme, life assurance cover, 12.5 days (full time equivalent of 25 days per annum) annual leave plus bank holidays and Christmas closure. Home based with attendance at the GMA’s office in Milton Keynes and other locations as agreed with the line manager.
