Wembley Stadium is currently looking for people to join its team of Matchday Support working with the Wembley Grounds Team.You will be required to work proactively with the Wembley Grounds Team to maintain and prepare the Wembley pitch to the highest standard for all events hosted by the stadium.We're looking for motivated &amp; dependable individuals who can commit to working our fixtures.As a Matchday Grounds person you'll be expected to work from 2 hours before kick-off, through the game, and then for several hours after the game. Please be aware that some games may finish late meaning that we sometimes work past midnight.You will be required to attend a weekend training session prior to your first event. This session will take place on either a Saturday or Sunday morning and will last up to 4 hours. You will be provided with uniform upon completion of your training.We ask that you are able to commit to two thirds of&nbsp;all events that we run throughout our season.What You'll Do?<ul><li>Maintaining and preparing the pitch to universal playing standards for all codes of sport hosted by Wembley, as agreed by bodies such as The FA, UEFA, IRB, NFL and FIFA.</li><li>Operate&nbsp;all necessary Wembley grounds machinery to maintain the pitch to the highest standard and competently perform all tasks required including: divoting; mowing; portable-goal set-up and take-down.</li><li>Follow&nbsp;all instructions given by the Full-Time Wembley Ground Team It is expected that you conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times, in line with Wembley's world class standards.</li><li>Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.</li><li>Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.</li><li>As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. <h2>About the role</h2>Liverpool Football Club are recruiting for an Assistant Head Groundsperson to join our Team.Based out of our Melwood Training Ground, you will help provide the best possible pitch standards for football.&nbsp;You will have direct reports of apprentices and casual colleagues and be responsible for mentoring and supervising members of the grounds team, deputising in the absence of Grounds Manager.What will you be doing?<ul><li>Perform daily pitch maintenance, including mowing, aerating, line marking, divoting, spraying, and fertilising.</li><li>Monitor and improve pitch health, offering solutions and support to colleagues around grass health.</li><li>Operate irrigation systems and set up irrigation programmes to match requirements.&nbsp;</li><li>Manage colleagues and contractors and liaise with coaches and other departments when needed.</li><li>Safely use all chemical and fertiliser products as required, in line with Club procedure and all relevant Health &amp; Safety law.&nbsp;</li><li>Order materials necessary for the routine operation of the Grounds team.</li><li>Ensure that all Health &amp; Safety responsibilities are adhered to, including goal post safety checks, proper use of all PPE.</li><li>Adherence to manual handling guidelines and attending regular refresher courses on all aspects of Health &amp; Safety and industry best practice.&nbsp;</li><li>Safely operate a range of horticultural equipment and machinery ensuring all is maintained in accordance with routine operating requirements.&nbsp;</li><li>Understand Risk and Method Statements and work to these and write them.&nbsp;</li><li>Set up and manage staff rotas and assist Manager with performance reviews.</li></ul> &nbsp;Who are we looking for?We are looking for candidates who have experience working within a ground’s maintenance role within a sporting environment. You will have completed an NVQ Level 3 in Sports Turf, or have equivalent relevant experience, and be qualified in the safe use of pesticides to levels PA1, PA2 and PA6.
