In this role, you will gain hands-on experience preparing football pitches to the highest standards, supporting all squads from the Under-9s through to the Men’s and Women’s First Teams. We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in sports turf management, ideally holding relevant qualifications.The successful applicant will work as part of a large, collaborative team, liaising with colleagues across departments and with coaching staff from all squads. The Role:&nbsp;<ul><li>To prepare and maintain football pitches to the highest of standards all year round.</li><li>To&nbsp;&nbsp;support the department by carrying out duties to your utmost abilities.</li><li>Communicate professionally with your immediate colleagues, also communicate professionally with other departments</li><li>To learn to use all the resources available to you professionally, effectively &amp; efficiently</li><li>Health &amp; Safety &amp; environmental experience preferable, you may be asked to assist &amp; comply with any club or external audits</li><li>To conduct yourself in a professional manner toward employer, employees, colleagues, representatives from the companies the club deal with and the public</li><li>To be approachable with a positive can-do attitude to your immediate colleagues and colleagues in other department</li></ul> The Person:&nbsp;<ul><li>Previous experience in the industry is required, </li><li>Experience on machines is preferable, Toro 3100D, Dennis Premiers &amp; G860, C34 Evolution electric mowers, Toro Pro-cores, tractor mounted aerators, line marking with wheel to wheel and spray markers including Beam rider to name a few</li><li>A positive “can do” attitude with a good work ethic is important</li><li>Football clubs have fixtures that will involve the successful candidate working unsociable hours in the evenings and weekends, a Flexible proactive approach is essential &amp; an understanding to how a football season works regarding working hours</li><li>Reliability and punctuality is essential</li><li>Level 1 qualification in Sports turf is required, and candidates with level 2 qualification in sports turf is preferable, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to obtain level 3 in sports turf</li><li>Candidate preferable to have experience with Health &amp; safety guidelines as protecting all our staff is a priority</li><li>Knowledge of environmental guidelines</li><li>Knowledge regarding fertilisers preferable including chemical spraying applications</li><li>PA1 &amp; PA6 spraying licence is essential</li><li>A good sense of housekeeping to always keep the work areas as tidy as possible</li><li>A sense of pride when it comes to cleaning of used machinery so everything is left clean and tidy for the next user</li></ul>What We Offer:&nbsp; At Manchester United, we recognise that our people are at the heart of our success.
