City of Peterborough Sports Club (CoPSC) is the largest multi sports club in the area and is home to five of the most premier sports clubs in the city, offering Bowls, Cricket (Peterborough Town Cricket Club), Hockey, Squash / Racquetball and Tennis with over 1000 members. We offer some of the finest facilities (for ECB Northants Premier cricket, County Bowls, and National League Hockey) in the East of England and host a number of top sporting competitions and matches including minor counties and 2nd XI county cricket. We are a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC).We are currently looking for an experienced Groundsperson to be accountable and responsible for a cricket square, cricket outfield, bowls green, grass tennis courts and a sand dressed astroturf hockey pitch within our site and to ensure they meet all standards required by the club and each sport’s governing body.Other responsibilities include:<ul><li>Ensure the safe and effective operation of all groundskeeping equipment, including lawnmowers, tractors, and other machinery. </li><li>Implement and maintain a comprehensive grounds maintenance plan, including fertilization, pest control, end-of-season renovation and irrigation strategies. </li><li>Monitor and address any issues with sports facilities promptly and safely. </li><li>Prepare the annual budget requests for repairs, maintenance and grounds preparation.</li><li>Coordinate the negotiation, purchase, storage and control of all consumable materials and services in a cost-effective manner.</li><li>Ensure all groundskeeping activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all relevant safety regulations and procedures. </li><li>Carry out repairs and renovations to sports facilities as needed during winter periods. </li><li>Maintain a thorough knowledge of and ensure compliance with all relevant National and Local current legislation, ie. Health and safety, first aid, COSHH, environmental management and employment to ensure compliance.</li><li>Continue to review industry best practice on grounds maintenance techniques, consumable products and technology to ensure the club remains a best-in-class facility</li></ul>Qualifications (to include one or more)<ul><li>NVQ/SVQ in Sports Turf Maintenance</li><li>Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Sports Turf or Amenity Horticulture</li><li>PA1/PA6 pesticide application certification</li><li>Knowledge of ECB, LTA, Bowls England, and England Hockey specific sports pitch regulations</li><li>First Aid and H&amp;S training</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Turf management</li><li>Line marking and pitch setup</li><li>Machinery operation and maintenance</li><li>Irrigation and drainage</li><li>Pesticide and fertiliser application</li><li>Basic DIY skills</li><li>IT skills for maintaining logs and schedules</li></ul>These duties and responsibilities are intended as a guide. We are seeking a Product Specialist to demonstrate and support Sales of our range of Robot line-markers. This role may appeal to applicants with an interest in machinery, but without industry experience or those currently working within the sportsground sector.Origin Amenity Solutions (OAS) are the exclusive UK distributor of market leading Tiny Mobile Robot Linemarkers, as well as our-own brand paints and equipment to major sporting venues, training grounds, contractors and local authorities.The successful candidate will support Origin's linemarking business in Northern UK and will be responsible for conducting demonstrations, installations and providing training and support to customers.Reporting to the Product Manager (Line Marking), you will be expected to:<ul><li>﻿﻿Conduct demonstrations and installations, providing comprehensive training and ongoing product support to customers.</li><li>﻿﻿Actively support sales efforts within the linemarking sector, including paints, pedestrian machines, and robotic line markers.</li><li>﻿﻿Independently identify and pursue opportunities to grow sales in new customer segments and market sectors.</li><li>﻿﻿Attend regular sales meetings and training sessions, both domestically and internationally.</li><li>﻿﻿Represent the company at trade shows by engaging with customers, showcasing products, and promoting the brand.</li><li>﻿﻿Travel frequently across the UK, with occasional overnight stays as required.</li></ul>Skills required:<ul><li>﻿﻿Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to perform onsite repairs and servicing of linemarking equipment (full training provided).</li><li>﻿﻿Interest in RTK technology, robotics, and a good understanding of computer systems and Android-based platforms is advantageous.</li><li>﻿﻿Background knowledge in sports pitch maintenance is beneficial but not essential.</li><li>﻿﻿Willingness to travel regularly and stay overnight when required for trade shows, customer visits, and training.</li><li>﻿﻿A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.</li><li>﻿﻿Ideally based in Northern England or Southern Scotland.</li></ul>
