And if you’re keen to progress, there’s a clear path to becoming a senior grounds person once you’ve got the right experience and qualifications.What you’ll do<ul><li>Ensuring the Club’s playing surfaces are maintained and presented to the highest possible standards using the latest turfcare machinery, equipment, and techniques. </li><li>All aspects of cricket ground preparation and renovation including deploying rain covers, mowing, marking out, erection and dismantling of Practice nets and the operation of pedestrian and tractor mounted machinery.</li><li>Lead and guide casual groundstaff as required enabling the smooth running of matchdays and non-matchdays. </li><li>Routine maintenance of turfcare machinery</li><li>Maintain health and safety in the workplace and comply with company procedures and guidelines.</li><li>All other duties consistent with grounds preparation at an industry leading sporting venu</li></ul>The PersonThe successful candidate will have the following experience / skills / qualities:Essential:Qualifications and Experience:<ul><li>Possession of a Level 2 qualification in Sports Turf Maintenance or an equivalent recognised certification.</li><li> A minimum of three years’ demonstrable experience in preparing and maintaining sports pitches to a high standard</li><li> Proven track record of working within a professional sporting environment or institution.</li></ul>Skills and Attributes:<ul><li>Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.</li><li>Commitment to delivering work of the highest standard with attention to detail and pride in presentation.</li><li>Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.</li><li>Flexible and proactive approach to working hours, including availability for evenings and weekends in line with the demands of the cricket season.</li><li>Genuine&nbsp;passion for sport, with a clear understanding of the operational requirements of cricket fixtures and seasonal demands.</li></ul>Desirable:<ul><li>PA1, PA2 &amp; PA6 Safe use of Pesticide, qualifications</li><li>Valid UK driving license</li></ul>To ApplyPlease apply via Workable with your CV outlining why you are suitable for this role.Closing date for applications is 10 October 2025.We want to make all opportunities at Surrey County Cricket Club accessible to anyone who wants to apply.
