Witham Hall School is a happy and thriving co-educational boarding and day Prep school, set within superb grounds on the Lincolnshire/Rutland border. There are around 250 pupils in the School from age 4 to 13. The School is seeking a committed and motivated Head of Grounds and Gardens to be responsible for the maintenance of the School’s top-level grounds, sports facilities and gardens, including maintenance and preparation of natural and artificial playing surfaces, outdoor learning areas, grounds, lawns, boundaries and hedges.
The post is a resident position, acting as part of the School’s wider team of on-site staff, contributing to a rota of lock-up duties, stewarding at events, responding to unplanned circumstances (e.g. snow) and other emergency events. A School cottage is available for this purpose.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in grounds and specific sports facilities, with a keen eye for high standards, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to meet the physical requirements of the role. With good knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repairs, the ability to work under your own initiative and a flexible approach to the role, having relevant qualifications would be desirable.
