
Skilled Grounds Assistant at Oriam
Purpose of Role:
The Skilled Grounds person will be required to directly manage pitch number 1 for the SRU National Team & SFA Contract. They should ensure all pitch requirements are planned and documented to communicate with the SRU & SFA Staff and ensure the Grounds Manager is kept fully updated on all pitch work required. This is a priority to ensure the preparation and delivery of the pitches and surrounds meets the agreed Contract KPI’s and SLA each year for SRU & SFA.
Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Skilled Grounds person will be on site when the partner users require the pitch to ensure the expectations of the partner are met for each training session.
- The Skilled Grounds person will deliver the pitch preparation daily, weekly, monthly to the agreed KPI levels for the hybrid grass used by the SRU National Team & SFA Team Players & Coaches.
- The Skilled Grounds person will ensure all pitch equipment used is cleaned and repaired each day to ensure the equipment is fit for purpose and available to be used to maintain the pitches daily.
- The Skilled Grounds person will communicate daily on the pitch surface and playability to the SRU & SFA Coaches and document all KPI information for reference.
Education, Qualifications & Experience:
These are the criteria on which the short-listing and recruitment selection will be based.
Essential
- Educated to SCQF Level 6 (Highers) or similar or equivalent experience
- Experience or relevant qualifications in the grounds / pitch care industry
- Experience of working and communicating in a football or rugby environment
- Good numeracy and IT skills. Competent in the use of relevant IT packages
- Well-developed people skills and ability to demonstrable professional and initiative-taking approach
- Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly, and accurately in a dynamic, changing and pressured environment
- Demonstrable provision of excellent customer service
Desirable
- Experience of managing pitch irrigation & maintenance apps and or pitch testing apps
- Experience of analysing pitch growth conditions and recommending remedial maintenance to improve pitch coverage.
- Experience of FIFA Pro Pitch testing and recommendations for pitch management
- Experience of working with hybrid pitch surfaces

Salary range
- £26,707 - £30,378 per year
