This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within Uppingham School's Estates team, helping to maintain 56 acres of playing fields and sports facilities.&nbsp;Games and a full sporting curriculum form an integral part of school life at Uppingham. As a Sports Turf Grounds Operative, you will be key to ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our playing fields, pitches and facilities, ensuring they are safe, functional, and visually appealing for use in sporting activities.&nbsp;In this varied role, you will undertake a range of maintenance responsibilities including mowing, fertilising, aerating, irrigating, repairing turf surfaces, and maintaining artificial pitches/courts. Your work will help provide high-quality playing surfaces that meet the needs of the school while adhering to safety standards and regulations.You will need previous experience of sports grounds maintenance and associated work, including experience of marking pitches, mowing, aerating, fertilising and weed control. Hours: 40 per weekSchedule: Monday to Friday daytime (with some occasional weekend work)&nbsp;Contract: Full time, permanentLocation: Ealing Lawn Tennis Club, Ealing, London W5The Club.Ealing Lawn Tennis Club is one of London’s leading tennis clubs with excellent playing facilities The Club has 6 grass courts, 3 indoor acrylic courts, 3 floodlit artificial clay courts, 3 floodlit tarmac courts, 2 mini tennis courts and a tennis hitting wall. Within the grounds is a modern clubhouse and car park. We are a community members club; we are passionate about our sport and provide a friendly place to work at.&nbsp; The role is a great opportunity for someone who wishes to widen their grounds management experience.&nbsp;The RoleTypical duties will include:<ol><li>Responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of grass tennis courts, artificial clay tennis courts, indoor courts and grounds of the Club</li><li>Operating lawnmowers and other machinery.</li><li>Ensure all equipment is correctly maintained and serviced.</li><li>Allocate work where there is part time, temporary or contract labour to control, and ensure completion of tasks.</li><li>Deal with sub-contractors that support the maintenance of facilities&nbsp;</li><li>Follow Health and Safety regulations&nbsp;</li></ol>Our Ideal CandidatePrevious grounds or turf experience is advantageous. We may also consider any applications for part-time work where this experience is present. Advantageous qualifications – NVQ 2 in Greenkeeping / Sports Turf Management and PA1 and PA6 Spraying qualifications.
