We achieve this by ensuring we are courageous in the pursuit of progress, we champion our community and each other, and that we do the right thing (even when no one is looking).<h3>Your day-to-day</h3><ul><li>Uphold our world class playing surfaces - you'll assist in delivering pitch operations in a timely manner and completed to the expected standard to ensure excellent maintenance of the playing surface &nbsp;</li><li>Carry out daily activities to as part of a wider team - you’ll be using our handheld and ride on cutting equipment, strimming around trees, operating our sprinklers, hand digging borders, spreading composts, incorporating into soil, sweeping up hard standing areas, pruning shrubs, disposing of leaves, cuttings and debris, and hand weeding sensitive areas where chemical control is not permitted</li><li>Wide use of machinery in renovation of grass areas - use of turf cutters, edgers, scarification, aeration machinery and seeders</li><li>Efficiently use specialist equipment - you will carry out tractor and trailer work and use a range of machinery in renovation of grass areas such as turf cutters, stone buriers, scarifiers and seeders, tractor and trailer work, sand spreading if required</li><li>Keep a keen-eye on the finer details - you'll assist in the renovation of the grounds and play a key role in marking out pitches, applying fertiliser, aeration and watering plants &nbsp;</li><li>Support wider team with important manual tasks - you will help out with deliveries and undertake manual handling of bags of sand, fertiliser and seed ranging from 20-25kg &nbsp;</li><li>Prioritise best-in-class standards - you'll proactively clean equipment stores and washdown areas and play a vital role in ensuring we're working in an impeccable and spotless environment</li><li>Assist in matchday set up - you'll be entrusted to ensure smooth delivery of matches. This includes pitch testing, divoting</li></ul><h3>What we are looking for</h3><ul><li>Qualified expert - you hold NVQ level 2 or above in green keeping and groundsmanship or equivalent &nbsp;</li><li>Experience with a range of key equipment - you've used a wide range of turf equipment such as cylinder mowers, ride on mowers, scarification equipment and a wide range of renovation equipment as well as hedge cutters, strimmers and all equipment associated with amenity landscapes &nbsp;</li><li>Background in all aspects of grounds keeping - you've not only applied your specialist skills to playing surfaces but also to wider amenity landscapes as well</li><li>Proud team player - you're able to collaborate courageously with the wider team but you also demonstrate the capabilities to work using your own initiative &nbsp;</li><li>Safety conscious individual - you have a good understanding of the latest health and safety legislation related to the proper use of equipment and machinery &nbsp;</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and communication skills - you take a meticulous approach to your work and pride yourself on your ability to build strong relationships with colleagues &nbsp;</li><li>Clean UK driving licence - you'll be able to transport yourself to our club's various different locations</li></ul><h3>Why choose us&nbsp;</h3>At Arsenal, we want everyone to feel a sense of trust and belonging, so we are proud of both our club values and also what we offer to our employees. Grounds Person At Boreham Wood (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

The Grounds Management Association (GMA) is seeking to recruit a full time Regional Pitch Advisor&nbsp;covering the sport of Rugby Union to join the existing team in supporting the delivery of the Pitch Advisory Service Programme (PAS). The PAS is designed to raise standards of sports surfaces and the understanding of sports turf management practices at volunteer level and is delivered by the GMA on behalf of the Rugby Football Union.The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills, be well organised and able to demonstrate clear knowledge and understanding of turf care management with a proven background in turf/grounds management, preferably sports turf. Knowledge of current NGB facilities strategy and the structures of sport, especially the sports of rugby union would be considered an advantage as will knowledge and understanding of local authorities and community sport structures.&nbsp;The role is home based with requirement to travel to the GMA head office in Milton Keynes&nbsp;and other sites for meetings or visits, as necessary. This role will report directly to the Key Account Manager for Rugby Union. The Regional Pitch Advisor for rugby union is a regional role covering the London &amp; South East Region consisting of London and the counties of Essex, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, Middlesex, Hertfordshire, and Surrey, so the successful candidate is expected to reside within or near to the boundary of the region. This role&nbsp;is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.This fixed term role is currently funded to 31 May 2028.&nbsp;The&nbsp;PAS is funded by the Football Foundation in partnership with the ECB, FA, RFL and RFU.The GMA is the UK’s leading industry body for the grounds care sector.
